1986 was the first year Porsche started utilizing Side Cables on Convertible Tops so these cables will only fit 1986 through 1994 models, earlier models don't have Side Cables attachment points on the Top frame.
Plastic coated Steel side Tension Cables, side Tension Cables are threaded into pocketed hems on the Top that run along the side windows. The ends of the Cables hold the top to the frame. You can re-use your existing Top Cables if they are in good shape. Side Tension Cables sold as a set, buy one order per car.
