The XK120 roadster was a success when it launched in 1948 in London and was produced all the way through 1954, when it was replaced by the XK140 and given a few upgrades, like more space, larger front and rear bumpers and brake, suspension and steering changes. Overall, the sense and style of the XK120 was preserved. In 1956 the XK140 was notable as the first Jaguar to offer an automatic transmission.
The XK120 and the XK140 both were offered in roadster styles (open two seater convertibles), drophead coupe styles (abbreviated DHC and also soft top convertibles) and fixed head coupes (FHC). The roadsters came with a removable windscreen and were two seaters only, unlike the DHCs which had fixed windscreens and a small backseat. The roadster and drophead coupe styles had very different soft top designs, so our replacement convertible tops for roadsters (found here) and drophead coupes are on different product pages to avoid confusion. Tonneau covers were available for roadsters and can be replaced from this TopsOnline product page also.
