Jaguar released the XK150 to follow in the family line of
XK120and then
XK140. The XK150 maintained a resemblance of its predecessors, but had a lot of body changes and switched to a one-piece windscreen. It was initially released in just a fixed head coupe (non-convertible) and a
drophead coupe (DHC), but in 1958 they released an open two seater roadster. This one bore no storage or backseat and challenged the status quo by pairing taller doors with wind-up windows. It kept the same fold down top that its previous relatives had though. The XK150 was discontinued in 1960 to make way for the
E-Type, which would surpass all that Jaguar had done to date.
