After the XJ era, Jaguar produced a new line based on the XK model, which was a 2+2 line of coupes and convertibles inspired by the retro lines of the '60's E-Type. The first generation in the XK series was the XK8, a grand touring vehicle that came with Jag's newly developed V8. They also offered the XKR, which had performance upgrades and additional sporty details like a spoiler and front grille. The XKR initially came with 370 hp and was later upgraded in 2003 to 390 hp. The 2003 through 2006 XKR is especially popular with collectors with it's styling that was so reminiscent of the classic
E-Type. The
second generation (starting in 2007) changed lines more with their XK and XKR models.
