From the 1960's and early 1970's Buick's vinyl tops came with seams that ran along each side of the roof, which were stitched, then folded over and heat-sealed so the stitching did not show. Starting in the mid 1970's there was a shift to the French-style seams which were double-stitched on top with the stitching exposed. You'll see the stitching called out for each model and year combination to match that which was produced on the vehicles by the factory when they were released.
